On January 2019 the INBOTS Project members met in the iceland city of Reikjavik to celebrate the second annual meeting of this european Project. The event, hosted by Ossür, was a great opportunity to share the advances made on each área of expertise pro promote the development and uptake of interactive robotics, while ensuring a responsable research and innovation paradigm in the field.

n the meeting, some deliverables were presented, like the first documentary video showed by PKF ATTEST INNCOME where all the consortium members expose the origin, work to be done and outcomes that INBOTS will involve for the society. The video, that was recooded during the first INBOTS Conference, seeks to highlight the relevance that Interactive Robotics are reaching in our days and the increasing necesity of updating our regulation in order to develop a safe market and enviroment for their uptake by the industry and by the general public.
Partners of the consortium also evaluated the success of the first INBOTS Conference that took place in Pisa during October 2018 and had time to plan the second INBOTS Conference that will be celebrated with a number of workshops and contributions during the European Robotics Forum 2019.
Another relevant issue, was the settlement of the guidelines that will stablish the roadmap of the White Papers that INBOTS Project will deliver to the European Commission in order to be able to lay down new rules and taxative systems that will enable the maintenance of actual social security systems while new work forces enter in the market with the uptake on interactive robotics in the diverse domain markets, as well as they enter in the daily lives of our houses.
In this sense, all the working groups in the six main áreas where INBOTS is working on, have already listed their “must be issues” to be able to have a first draft of their documents before the end of this year. In the end, INBOTS will deliver six White Papers on:
- INTERACTIVE ROBOTICS MARKET ANALYSES & SUPPORT FOR SMEs
- INTERACTIVE ROBOTICS LEGAL, ETHICS & SOCIOECONOMIC ASPECTS
- INTERACTIVE ROBOTICS EDUCATION PROGRAMS & LEARNING ACTIVITIES
- INTERACTIVE ROBOTICS STANDARDIZATION & BENCHMARKING STRATEGIES
- INTERACTIVE ROBOTICS REGULATORY FRAMEWORK & RISK MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK
In addition, during the meeting, partners shared their progress like the new paper on “Artificial Intelligence and civil law: liability rules for drones” by Andrea Bertollini, as well presenting some philosophical issues in order to help to clarify what Interactive Robotics must do to settle a better society.
